Materials
needed:
Medium Size: 2 skeins
Blue Sky Techno or any other yarn which gives you the right gauge
Large Size: 2 1/2 skeins Blue Sky Techno or any other
yarn which gives you the right gauge
Needle: 20”
circular needle US 13, US 11, US 10 ½
Gauge: 13 sts = 4”
Finished measurements:
Medium (pictured) 22” long and 22” wide at the ribbing
Large 30” long and 22” wide at the ribbing
Instructions:
Using a stretchy cast-on method (I used the long tail
method) cast on 97 stitches on US 13.
Row 1: *K1, P1*
repeat to the end k1
Row 2: *P1, K1* repeat
to the end P1
Row 3: same as row 1
Row 4: K all sts
Change to size 11 needle
Row 5-9: K all sts
Change to size 10 ½ needle
Row 10: k all sts
Row 11 (decrease row): K1, K2tog, *K17, K2tog* repeat
from * three more times (92 sts remain)
Row 12-14: K all sts
Row 15 : K1,K2tog, *K16, K2tog* repeat from * three more times (87 sts remain)
Row 16-18 : K all sts
Row 19: K1, K2tog, *K15, K2tog* repeat from * three more
times (82 sts remain)
Row 20-22: K all sts
Row 23 : K1, K2tog, *K14, K2tog* repeat from * three more
times (77 sts remain)
Row 24-26: K all sts
Row 27: K1, K2tog, *K13, K2tog* repeat from * three more
times (72 sts remain)
Row 28-30: K all sts
Row 31: K1, K2tog, *K12, K2tog* repeat from * three more
times (67 sts remain)
Keep knitting in Stockinet Stitch until the piece
measures 9” from the cast on edge.
Next row: K1, K2tog, K20, K2tog, K20, K2tog,K20 (You now
have 64 sts on your needle)
Start Ribbing:
Row 1: *K5, P1, K1, P1* repeat from * to the end of your
row
Row 2: *K5, K1, P1, K1* repeat from * to the end of your
row
Repeat these two rows until the desired length is
reached. For the Medium size this is approximately
12” of ribbing. For the Large Size which
can be pulled over your head more comfortably it is about 20” of ribbing.
The last three rows are done in Seed Stitch on Size 13 needles.
Row 1 and 3: *K1, P1* repeat from * to the end of your
row.
Row 2: *P1, K1* repeat from * to the end of your row.
Bind off loosely and enjoy!
