I’m trying to move toward some intermediate things to challenge myself. I do know how to do most YOs but I don’t know how to do the (YO K1) TWICE in this pattern without ending up with too many stitches added. Also is there anything special/different about knitting any of the other parts of the pattern where there are stitches in parentheses and then TWICE? Thanks so much for helping me. So for every 2 1/2 inches of added width add 12 stitches to your CO. Let’s say you want your shawl to be approximately 24 inches wide instead of 8 1/2 inches you would add six lace repeats for a total of nine lace repeats and cast on 9 x 12 + 6 stitches = 114 stitches.
You’d reverse the calculation for a more narrow scarf and Substrat 12 stitches or a multiple of 12 stitches.
I hope this helps.Formby Dorishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13516962923041856553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3566017014381332101.post-39708677764842676282021-07-20T10:32:41.507-07:002021-07-20T10:32:41.507-07:00Can you please tell me how to make a skinny versio...Can you please tell me how to make a skinny version of this please? When I've read other cable patterns, they usually give instructions to "move to cable needle" and then "work stitches from cable needle," whatever the number might be. But in Row 3 of this pattern, it just says C8B, and there are 7 stitches to either side of that. If I understand correctly (which I might not!), I would move 4 stitches to my CN after the first P2, but when in the pattern do I work them to get to 22 stitches in a row?
