have 64 sts on your needle)

row
Row 2: *K5, K1, P1, K1* repeat from * to the end of your

Repeat these two rows until the desired length is
reached. For the Medium size this is approximately
12” of ribbing. For the Large Size which
can be pulled over your head more comfortably it is about 20” of ribbing.
The last three rows are done in Seed Stitch on Size 13 needles.
Row 1 and 3: *K1, P1* repeat from * to the end of your
row.
Row 2: *P1, K1* repeat from * to the end of your row.
Bind off loosely and enjoy!

Thanks for sharing! I am going to try this one. I like the idea of a wider bottom that will fit under the coat.
ReplyDeleteThank you; that's great. It really seems that there was a need for this kind of construction; less drafty when worn under the coat and still enough to make it look good over the coat.
DeleteThe cowl appears to be knit in the round, but the instructions do not state to do so; nor do they instruct to seam the flat knit. Help!
ReplyDeleteIt IS knit in the round -- see how rows 4 - 31 have no purl stitches? If knitted flat, each alternate row would have been all purl sts. Looks like a fun project.
ReplyDeleteSooooo - newby here - the instructions are not complete? I'm assuming, for myself and others who may not be as wise as some, that you place a marker at the end of row 1 and join?
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie as well - getting the hang of knitting in the round - this will be my next project : )
ReplyDeleteBut to answer the last Anonymous Commenter - yes - stitch marker goes at the end of Row 1 and join. Continue to use the stitch marker on each row - this will help you later in the project when you start decreasing.
Thank You Doris!!!!
