Catching up on the past year

I am sorry, it has been so long since my last post.

Many things have happend since:

Our grandson Liam was born end of October 2024 and after going through some initial medical issues, he is thriving into a fine boy.  As a matter of fact, he just celebrated his first birthday.  The golf jacket you see him wearing in the picture was knitted by me just before my shoulder surgery.  The theme of his birthday was Liam masters One Year ( yes, golf themed).

The shoulder surgery in April was due to a full tear of the rotary cuff.  It has been an ardeous road to recovery since, but I will get there.

My highlights of revovery are that I started knitting again after four months and started driving after four and a half months.

And that takes me to this month.  For many reasons I am participating in the Knit Every Day In November Fundraising for the American Cancer Society.

My life has been touched by cancer since before school age when my uncle Albert passed away of lung cancer.  Actually before that, before I was born, my maternal grandmother passed away of breast cancer at the age of sixty.  Throughout my life I have been seeing family members and friends go through cancer, some winning the battle, some not.  My daughter in law is part of the first group having battled cancer successfully and not only that, she is now pregnant with twins.

What better tribute to pay than to participate in this fundraiser whilst knitting a baby blanket. The red line shows where I was at when I started.  I am knitting a minimum of four rows a day and look how far I have come in just ten days!

I don’t know how or even if cancer has affected your life, but I am inviting you to contribute to my fundraiser by using this link to my fundraising page:

I am trying to get another link for those who don‘t have facebook.

Thank you in advance!!!
